I graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2015 and I finished my doctoral studies in 2023. I am currently working on my dissertation, in which I am researching the role of interpretation in the creative process and the relation of millennials to meaning-making. My focus on my own generation is also evident in my creative practice, where I respond sensitively to the existential and psychological challenges of my generation. Through large-scale installations inspired by children’s playgrounds, which have become my main medium, I reflect on the problems of ” adulthood „. The narrative background of my work is based on psychological observations, philosophical questions and socio-political themes, through which I explore the challenges of the individual’s functioning within society. I seek to enrich my conceptual thinking with visually interesting framing, technical solutions and use of materials.
As part of my doctoral research, I developed a creative programme in which I attempted to create a loose, organic web of meaning from the thought and visual by-products of my artistic work. However, my aim was not to simply accumulate visuals, but to try out a creative game of interpretation. Along the lines of this concept, I created objects and spatial elements that are highly variable in form and meaning, and that are capable of triggering different meaning-making automatisms in different situations. As part of the process, I consciously experiment with transformability, both at the physical and symbolic level. The concept of play, which can represent complex processes in an elemental way, provides a handle for this. I have already reinterpreted the various toys (swings, seesaws, climbing frames… etc.) that have served as models for my previous installations, not only visually but also conceptually. And the moment of reinterpretation has now been extended beyond the intended conceptual and physical boundaries of the work, making it a repositionable element of an ever-expanding toy set (and symbol library).
