The starting point for my work was a personal, family story which is intertwined with a “bio-worm” scandal that erupted around the time of the regime changes in Hungary. As an adult, a realization developed that the events around the time of my birth – losing our family home in Mátra and the circumstances of the subsequent move – could have established a sense of rootlessness in me. In the installation, the merging of the cradle and composting bowl, as well as the earthworm sand it contains are a symbolic transcription of the opportunity to place family trauma in a broader context. In addition, I tried to make a kind of calculation through the imprints of the heritage brought from the past, using the measuring tools hidden in the work.
